Tasks of the Committee
- Work on preparing measurement tools such as questionnaires and tests necessary for evaluation processes.
- Supervising the application of the various measurement tools, analyzing them, and presenting them in complete confidentiality to the person concerned with the evaluation, to benefit from them in enhancing the positive aspects, and addressing the negative aspects, if any.
- Analyzing the results of the semester and final course exams, and providing some statistical indicators of test quality, such as reliability coefficients and the difficulty of the questions, with which the coordinators can enlighten in evaluating the appropriateness of the questions they use to measure students' academic achievement.
- Presenting and discussing the evaluation results to the department coordinators, to exchange views on the development of student evaluation methods.
- Facilitate the task of correcting objective tests, and evaluating their quality in measuring educational attainment.
- Conducting studies on some academic and non-academic phenomena, to provide some indicators that can be relied upon in making some administrative decisions.
- Comprehensive evaluation of the performance of faculty members and the like for the purpose of improving performance.
- Providing advice to users of scales and questionnaires on how to use them, analyze them and interpret their result.
- Organizing and implementing training courses in measurement and evaluation in order to develop measurement and evaluation skills.
- Coordination with other committees within the college, each within its jurisdiction.
- Preparing a complete and comprehensive report at the end of the academic year that contains complete statistics and performance indicators, if any.
